We flew an Air Tahiti Nui Air Bus from LAX to Papeete on Janary 6, 2012. Although the flight took almoust nine hours and although we sat in the back, the flight was comfortable. Upon lading in Papeete, we waited in various lines for two hours until we entered our cabin too late to be served a meal. Good thing that we were not hungry. The ship left on time at 11:00 PM. At that time Gloria had not yet received her luggage. It would be another hour later before it was delivered to our door. At that time we were not pleased with the cruise line!
The next morning we arrived on schedule in Moorea. We were looking forward to this as this island is reputed to be the nicest island in French Polynesia.

Here Gloria had booked a tour around the island, and I had booked a Photography tour with Bob and Barb. Unfortunately the weather was very bad, high wind and torrential rains, so all shore activities were canceled.
All we got was a one hour walk in fog and rain near the dock. The area where we stepped ashore was called Cook's Landing. Obviously a very historic place. We visited a couple shops. Very expensive!. Then we walked along the highway to a local beach/park. Here we saw a school of sharks and this local lady brushing her hair. I asked if I could take her pictue. She said no, Good thing I have a telephoto lens. Dinner was at a on-board "fine dining" establishment. It lived up to its name!
